What Is Xavage By Xcaret Park

Restaurant at Xavage Xcaret Cancun.
The beautiful settings of the park’s restaurant.

Nestled in the heart of the Riviera Maya, accessible from Cancun, Playa del Carmen, and Tulum, Xavange Adventure Park is the ultimate adrenaline junkie’s paradise, boasting a plethora of heart-pumping activities perfect for making unforgettable vacation memories.

As the newest addition to the Xcaret family of attractions, Xavange offers a truly one-of-a-kind experience. We have visited various adventure parks around the world, but nothing really comparable to Xavange!

Xavange is owned by the Xcaret brand that specialises in adventure parks in Mexico. Their other famous theme parks in Cancun and Tulum include Xplor, which offers a fantastic mix of water activities, cenote expeditions, and zip-lining, as well as Xel-Ha, located near Tulum.

Xel-Ha is a water park, which is probably the most kid-friendly, and it’s the one that features the iconic watchtower.

There are multiple cameras at every attraction in the park that take photos of you while you’re doing the activities. There is normally a sign to warn you and let you prepare with a smile before a photo is snapped.

Each participant has a unique barcode on their helmet so the system can attribute photos to the right people. And you can view your photos on one of the many screens throughout the park by scanning the code on your bracelet, which is the same code as on your helmet.

The prices depend on the number of people in your group. For example, the photos for the two of us cost just over $60. After purchasing a photo package, you will be given a receipt with a website address and code, where you can download your photos. The code will be valid for 30 days, so make sure you save your photos on your computer before they expire.

Renting A Car In Cancun?

In this blog post, we will tell you how easy it is to rent a car in Cancun, covering everything from prices, rental conditions, insurance requirements, tips for driving in Mexico, and so much more.

Xavage Activities: Basic Package

Xavage Park is the most fun and extreme park we’ve ever visited, and we highly recommend it to travellers wanting to take a break from the beach and have a fun day!

In the next two sections, we will explain all activities available at Xavage Mexico, so you can see for yourself if it’s the right Xcaret theme park for you.

If you purchase the basic package, you will get access to three activities as well as breakfast, unlimited snacks and soft drinks and a lunch buffet.

Ropes Course – (Howler Monkey)

Robe course at Xavage Cancun.

The first activity at Cancun Xavage is the ropes course, also known as Howler Monkey activity. There are four levels of difficulty, with the green route being the easiest and the black one the hardest. Every level is set at a different height.

First, all participants go through the safety briefing, where Xavege staff explains how to use your harness safely.

Then you get to practise the harness-blocking system until you get comfortable. Basically, the harness is made of two hooks. When one is open, it is impossible to open the other one making the harness 100% safe for everyone to use, even children.

If you’ve never done anything like that, we recommend you start with the easiest level, and when your confidence increases, you can progress to a higher level.

Robes Course at Xavage Park in Cancun.
Robes Course at Xavage Park in Cancun.

Level one is set at the lowest height (8 meters), and it is also the shortest course. Level 4 goes up to 36 meters high and includes the most creative obstacles, and passing the lines is the most challenging with the least stable bridges. There is even a suspended bicycle which you need to cycle on a narrow robe!

It takes an average of 1 hour and 30 minutes to complete the course, and the length of it is about 240 meters. Once you complete the course, you ring an achievement bell and get a banana to refuel your energy before the next activity.

➡️ 4 Levels at the robes course

Level 1 – Green ❯  Height: 8 m / 26 ft

Level 2 – Blue ❯ Height: 14 m / 46 ft

Level 3- Red ❯ Height: 25 m / 82 ft

Level 4 – Black ❯ Height: 36 m / 118 ft

➡️ Requirements

☑️ You must use your helmet

☑️ You will be given gloves

☑️ You must wear closed-toe shoes (trainers & water shoes)

🛑 Weight limit for this activity is 136 kg (300 lbs)

🛑 Children’s minimum height is 1.2 m (4 ft) and must be supervised

🛑 Phones are not permitted; GoPro is allowed only if it can be strapped to the helmet

➡️ Our Review

Robes Course at Xavage Park in Cancun.
Robes Course at Xavage Park in Cancun.

To be completely honest, I found the robe course a little challenging and scary. I’ve been to similar “monkey world” parks in the UK, but it was nowhere near as extreme as this one.

I went through the first level, and it was a sufficient challenge for me. 😅Having said that, I do suffer from joint issues, and I’m not the strongest in my hands, so I found supporting my body weight on my hands challenging.

My partner Robin, on the other hand, loves all adrenaline-pumping activities and found the activity only a little challenging but mostly very enjoyable. He went through Level 2, which was longer, and higher up, and the bridges were less stable.

*We recommend doing the robe course first thing in the morning when your energy level is the highest and you haven’t yet got wet. The robe course area is completely exposed to the sun, so completing it in the early morning before it gets hot makes a lot of sense. Make sure you apply suitable sun cream before embarking on this activity.

Kayak – (Crocodile)

Kayaking at Xavage by Xcaret.

The Crocodile course at Xavage Xcaret Cancun park is the most relaxing activity you will experience and a nice break from all the heart-pumping attractions.

There are three different trails you can follow, but even the longest one is relatively short, and it won’t take more than 20 minutes to complete. You can either take a one-person kayak or share a double kayak with your partner and learn how to paddle in synchrony.

Then take your time and enjoy paddling slowly through a canal, where you can observe some wildlife! We saw a lot of different species of birds and had a great time.

Remember to apply sun cream, and as for the clothes, wear anything comfortable. You are not likely to get wet during this activity.

➡️ Levels

Long: 940 yds (860 m)

Intermediate: 776 yds (710 m)

Short: 344 yds (315 m)

➡️ Requirements

☑️ You must use your helmet

☑️ Life jackets are also mandatory

☑️ Wear water shoes or no shoes

🛑 Weight limit for this activity is 200 kg (441 lbs)

🛑 Children’s minimum height is 1.2 m (4 ft) and must be supervised

🛑 Phones are not permitted; GoPro is allowed only if it can be strapped to the helmet or life jacket

➡️ Our Review

The Kayak activity was definitely the least extreme, if not extreme at all, activity at Xavage Park Xcaret, but at the same time, it was a nice break.

We recommend doing it just after the buffet lunch to let your body digest all the yummy food you had at the restaurant. We did the longest course, and it only took 15 minutes, so definitely go for the longest trail unless you’ve never kayaked before.

Splash Zone – (Serpent)

Splash Zone at Xavage by Xaret Park.

The splash zone at Xavage Cancun is a child-exclusive area, and since we don’t have children, we haven’t used it.

The serpent is quite a large water area for kids to enjoy. There are water buckets, slides, jets and paddling pools. A lifeguard supervises the play and ensures kids can enjoy the water safely. There is also an expansive lounging area that surrounds the water playground and a small pool, where parents can relax while watching their offspring.

➡️ Requirements

☑️ Age limit is 5 to 11 years old

☑️ Adults must supervise children at all time

Xavage All Inclusive Package

Zip-line Flight – (Hawk)

Zip lining at Xavage.

There are two zip-line stations at Xavage Cancun amusement park, both very similar to each other. If you liked the first one, you can go ahead and repeat the flight on the second one.

Before your flight, you get strapped in a large harness that looks like a hammock. 😂

Book your Xavage tickets here:

The ride itself is relatively slow and relaxing compared to the standard zip lines. Your hammock-like harness gets attached to the bar, and you are flying in a horizontal position with your head first and free arms which you can stretch during the flight. The zip line is around 400 meters long, and it takes about 2 minutes to complete the course.

The zipline has two lines, and it appeared that you could be flying with your partner/friend simultaneously, but unfortunately, the staff didn’t allow it.

If you’ve never done zip-lining before, don’t worry, as the zip-line at Xavage is super easy and relaxing. Due to the nature of the harness, you will also feel safe and secure.

➡️ Zip-line Specs

Length: 400 m zip-line flight

Maximum speed: 29 km/h (18 mph)

Height: suspended at 20 m (65 ft)

➡️ Requirements

☑️ You must use your helmet & harness

☑️ Wear any shoes or no shoes

🛑 Weight limit for this activity is 136 kg (300 lbs)

🛑 Children’s minimum height is 1.2 m (4 ft) and must be supervised

🛑 Phones are not permitted; GoPro is allowed only if it can be strapped to the helmet or life jacket

➡️ Our Review

Zip lining at Xavage.

We really enjoyed the zip line, and it felt peaceful and relaxing to fly over the canals at Xavage. However, if you’re expecting an adrenaline-pumping flight, you will be disappointed.

We recommend doing the zip-line after the robes course and definitely before lunch, as the harness may put some pressure on your stomach, which would feel very uncomfortable after a large meal.

Rafting – (Barracuda)

Rafting is one of the most fun activities at Xavage park Cancun.
This was one of the most adrenaline-pumping moments at Xavage Park.

The white water rafting course at Xavage amusement park Cancun is the only white water rafting in the area and has the longest artificial rapids in the world. It is an extremely fun activity for all ages, and no previous rafting experience is required.

Before the activity, wear some clothes that you don’t mind getting wet in, as you will 100% get soaked on the raft. But, don’t worry, it will be fun. Swim shorts for guys and a swimsuit or a bikini and fast-drying sports shorts for ladies will be ideal. You can store your belonging in the lockers provided, right where the activity starts.

You will also be required to wear your helmet (as with all the activities at Xavage Cancun), a life vest and water shoes, or you can also do this activity bear foot.

After the safety video and detailed instructions from your leader, you will board the raft with five other participants and start the water adventure.

The course is very diverse, it starts easy, and as you gain more confidence, it progresses to class III level rapids with 7-feet waterfalls and different strength currents.

➡️ Difficulty Level

Class III (for comparison – class V is the most difficult in the rafting world)

➡️ Requirements

☑️ You must use your helmet

☑️ Life jackets are also mandatory

☑️ Wear water shoes or no shoes

🛑 Weight limit for this activity is 136 kg (300 lbs)

🛑 Children’s minimum height is 1.2 m (4 ft) and must be supervised

🛑 Phones are not permitted; GoPro is allowed only if it can be strapped to the helmet or life jacket

➡️ Our Review

Navigating the rapids at Xavage park by Xcaret.

Rafting was one of our favourite experiences at Xavage extreme adventure park Cancun. It was a great activity during which we enjoyed a little of team-bonding and a lot of good laughter.

The activity is not difficult at all, as your guide controls the raft and ensures you have a lot of fun safely.

Jet Boat – (Dragonfly)

Jet boat is the most adrenaline -pumping activity at Xavage Cancun.

Dragonfly is by far the most heart-pumping activity available at Xavage by Xcaret in Cancun!

You can do this activity wearing water shoes or no shoes, and you may get a little wet, so wear something suitable. After a short safety briefing, you will board a speed boat with a skilled captain that will take you through a canal loop. Fasten your seatbelt, and hold on tight to a bar at all times.

And don’t expect a normal ride! The driver takes you through twists and turns, missing canal edges just by a few centimetres to make sure you stay entertained throughout the ride. And the best part of the ride are the 360 degrees spins! Omg, they are so fun and liberating; you may want to do it again and again.

At the front of the boat, a GoPro is recording your reactions during the ride, and you can purchase the video at the store later on.

➡️ Specs

Length: 4 km

Max speed: 75 km/h (46 mph)

➡️ Requirements

☑️ You must use your helmet

☑️ Wear water shoes or no shoes

🛑 Weight limit for this activity is 136 kg (300 lbs)

🛑 Children’s minimum height is 1.2 m (4 ft) and must be supervised

🛑 Phones are not permitted; GoPro is allowed only if it can be strapped to the helmet or life jacket

➡️ Our Review

Jet boat is the most adrenaline -pumping activity at the park.

The jet boat was by far my favourite activity out of all the adventure parks in Cancun we visited! I loved it so much that we went twice in a row. 🥰I liked it so much because I got the most excitement out of it, but at the same time felt very safe!

We recommend doing this activity sometimes after lunch, not directly after you’ve eaten, as you may experience discomfort, but also not as the last activity. The dragonfly has the longest waiting time, as one boat can only fit ten people, and only one boat at a time is allowed in the canal.

Monster Truck – (Puma)

Monster Trucks
Monster Trucks

The monster truck is the final attraction at Xavage Cancun Xcaret Park. The buggy vehicles are suitable for two people – one driver and one passenger, and it takes around 25 minutes to complete the track.

Puma is the perfect activity for someone that enjoys driving, but it is more about the skills, not the speed. There are around 15 different obstacles – huge holes, massive puddles and steep, uneven hills, so the track is definitely challenging and super wobbly!

The driver and the passenger are required to wear closed-toe shoes. There is only one paddle to drive through, so you are not going to get too wet. We recommend taking at least one hour after eating to let the stomach settle before doing the Puma.

➡️ Levels

5-obstacle course

Length: 1.6 km or (1 mile)

➡️ Requirements

☑️ You must use your helmet & seatbelts

☑️ Wear water shoes or no shoes

☑️ Only adults of 18 years and over with a valid driver’s license and experience can drive

🛑 Weight limit for this activity is 136 kg (300 lbs)

🛑 Driver’s minimum height is 1.6 m (5.2 ft)

🛑 Passanger’s minimum height is 1.2 m (4 ft)

🛑 Phones are not permitted; GoPro is allowed only if it can be strapped to the helmet or life jacket

➡️ Our Review

This activity was Robin’s favourite. He is a very good driver and was able to really enjoy the ridiculous bumps and holes! In my opinion, the monster truck is fairly extreme, and you need to be a very good driver to complete the track successfully.

There was one couple ahead of us, and the guy that was driving didn’t seem very confident and halfway drove his buggy into the ditch. Nothing happened to the couple, but after that, they didn’t want to continue to complete the course.😅

Tips For Visiting Xavage Xcaret Park

Wear some comfortable clothes when you visit the park.
Wear comfy clothes.

What to wear for Xavage Park?

If you’re planning a visit to Xavage Park, it’s important to dress comfortably and practically. We recommend opting for comfortable, fast-drying shorts and a sports top to keep you cool and unrestricted.

Make sure to pack clothing that allows you to move freely and dries off quickly. This way, you can focus on having fun and not worry about anything holding you back.

Also, bring comfortable trainers for doing the robe course and water shoes for the water-based activities. You can buy water shoes at the Xavage shop, but you will also be fine without them.

The only two activities that require closed-toe shoes are the robes course and the monster track. You can go barefoot for the other activities.

What’s the best time to visit Xavage Cancun?

The ideal time to arrive is right when the park opens at 8:30 am. By arriving early, you’ll have enough time to tackle all the exhilarating attractions this theme park has to offer.

Trust us; you won’t want to miss out on any of the 6 activities. Besides, getting there early will also allow you to beat the crowds and keep queues at bay.

So, grab a coffee to go and head on over to Xavage Cancun bright and early. Once you arrive, you can enjoy a light complimentary breakfast first and get ready to start your first activity at 9:00 am.

What to bring with you?

Don’t forget to pack some essentials to make the most of your experience. The sun in Cancun can be brutal, so bring some sun cream to keep your skin protected from harmful rays while navigating the robe course or kayaking.

You’ll also want to pack trainers or water shoes, as they are required at the robe course and monster track.

Also, pack a fast-drying towel, along with shower gel and shampoo, so you can freshen up after a long day of adrenaline-fueled fun.

Finally, toss in a change of clothes to go back home feeling comfortable and clean.

Which ticket to buy?

We highly recommend the all-inclusive ticket that includes the most thrilling activities like jet boating and rafting. Trust us; you’ll want to experience all the adrenaline-pumping action Xavage has to offer! While the basic admission may seem like a good deal, it doesn’t compare to the excitement of the all-inclusive ticket.

Which activity to do first? Our suggested itinerary

We recommend doing the robe course, followed by the zip-line first. The robe course is fully exposed to the sun, and it’s best completed in the morning when your energy levels are at their highest. Then enjoy a ride on a monster track.

After lunch, relax a little by exploring the peaceful canals on a kayak. Then go on a jet boat ride and finish the day by rafting. This way, you’ll get wet only at the very end of your day.
